A Discussion List about Locally-Grown Foods in Northern New England

Localvores are committed to eating foods grown within their local foodshed.

This localvore discussion list is a place for mutual support and for sharing information that will help us find, use and promote foods grown within our northern New England region. It is a place to share sources of hard-to-find local foods, recipes, tips on kitchen gardening and putting foods by; links to outstanding web sites, articles and books; info on locally-grown food events. It is also a place to ask questions relevant to our local food supply.

While support for local farmers is a major impetus for this list, the discussion is meant to focus on the consumer's increased use of locally-grown foods not the farmer's methods for increasing yield, nor the seller's interest in increased sales. It is also not a place for general environmental activism, however relevant that may be - it is specifically a place for interested consumers to share information and promote locally-grown food.

Basic localvore information can be found on this VitalCommunities page at www.vitalcommunities.org/Agriculture/localvore/localvorehome.htm .
